Party all night long with DJ Beauty Kees! DJ Beauty Kees is begonnen als een poging van twee – laten we zeggen – geen tieners meer om tóch nog dj te worden. Met als eerste gig een sprankelende performance op de toiletten van Club Nyx in Amsterdam, hebben we ons via feestjes, festivals en partijen van derden omhoog gewerkt in de showbizz. De optredens liepen in de laatste jaren uiteen van het Solar Festival in Roermond tot het COC in Arnhem, van het International Film Festival Rotterdam tot klassieke Rotterdamse cafés als De Schouw en Het Witte Huis, en van een eigen show op theaterfestival De Parade tot het 40-jarig huwelijksjubileum van tante Thea en ome Jan. Inmiddels hebben we een bonte schare van drag queens, sjonnies, sm-meesteressen, paarden en andere exotische persoonlijkheden om ons heen verzameld, die we te allen tijde uit onze beautycase kunnen toveren. Verwacht bij ons geen vakkundig gemixte platen en een gelikte show. Reken eerder op: veel te harde (lees: overstemde) muziek, kitscherige beautycases uitgerust met rookmachine en stroboscoop, ‘dansende’ lampen die om de haverklap kapot springen, schel stemgeluid door een goedkope microfoon, en vooral: een hoop gekkigheid en aanstekelijke gezelligheid.
