art exhibition at the International Burlesque Circus by Wonder Lijk: The Dutch artist Wonder Lijk (meaning Wonder Corpse and Wonderful/peculiar/odd/strange at the same time in Dutch) was raised in a family freak-show without a tent where she soon discovered a love for creating in many different ways. After studying graphic design and theater design she now works at two prop shops, but also works in assignment to make decor, costumes, masks, puppets, props, illustration etc. and creates work of her own. Themes that often show in her work are; absurdism, childhood, perversity, anonymity, perishableness and the abnormal. Among other things she made; Paris Hitler blow up doll, Cherrilyn Monroe siamesetwinsuit, Burlesque Circus backdrops and Spoetnik the giant furry bunny mascot.
